Martini Time !!!!

It's a well known fact that the first thing you do on a cruise is locate the martini bar. Karen and I found one with a great bartender on the Norwegian Majesty.

Francisco pre chilled the glasses, just wetted the glasses with vermouth, poured Bombay Sapphire gin and knew enough to keep juice off the lemon twist. We gave him with a nice farewell tip. (December/2005)

Karen passes a Mayan temple near Belize City. These small structures (probably large by contemporary standards) were the homes of Mayan priests. This is actually three temples with an original temple inside the outer lower stonework and then a third temple on top. The Mayan thought they needed to renew everything every 52 years. I'm not swimming here.

Big ol'crocodile suns himself on the banks of Old Belize River. We also saw iguanas, several varieties of birds and howler monkeys while boating down the river to the ocean. (December/2005)

Another day, more Mayan Ruins.

Karen and I pose in front of a huge Mayan temple within the walled city of Tulum near Cozumel, Mexico. These religious, structures, dating back to the 1200 A.D., were sometimes used for human sacrifice rituals to bring rain. (December/2005)

White faced monkey cozies up to Karen at Gumbalima Park near Roatan, Honduras. The animal was wet from recent rain, but Karen didn't try to shake him off. (December/2005) Looking for a handout, scarlet macaw bird lands on my shoulder at the Gumbalima Park near Roatan, Honduras. When he wasn't offered a treat, the stupid bird ate the button off the top of my hat. (December/2005)
Seen through the window of a glass bottom boat, a pair of stingrays glide across a sandbar near George Town, Grand Cayman. These rays are about a yard across their wings. They are quite gentle and won't use their stingers unless seriously attacked. (December/2005)
